All week, we’ll be highlighting year-end events from many area rescues, shelters, and dog-friendly spots around Omaha. Here’s the biggest event of the season, the 2016 Margre Durham Walk for the Animals!
Omaha’s largest dog-friendly event is bigger and better than ever! The Nebraska Humane Society’s biggest annual “fun”draiser has a new time and new attractions! The Margre Durham Walk for the Animals is Sunday, October 2 from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 at the gate.
The NHS has added even more activities to make the Walk the biggest and best dog-friendly event in town:
• Leisure 1-mile walk and/or 5K run
• Beer garden
• Voodoo Tacos and BBQ
• Free photo booth
• High-flying Purina frisbee dog team
• Dog paw painting
• Scavenger hunt, and tons of activities “tailer”-made for kids
• Adoption parade
• Celebration of NHS alumni pets
• 20+ rescue groups
• Animal Control demonstrations
• Face painting, bouncy house and rock climbing
There’s also a dog friendly 5K (yep, you can run with your dog!) for runners.
