It’s that time of year again! The Nebraska Humane Society’s Taylor Made Rescue Rally will take place on Sunday, February 14 from, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yes, it is one of our favorite events!
“It is a great educational opportunity and lots of great animal lovers under one roof,” says Denise Gurss, director of Behavior and Training at the Nebraska Humane Society.
The Taylor Made Rally was started with two purposes in mind says Denise; first, to pay tribute to one of the first rescue organizers in the State of Nebraska, Patty Taylor. Her birthday is in February. Second, the NHS’s intake numbers normally drop off during the winter.
“We felt it was a way to say ‘thank you’ to the local rescue groups that have been working with us.”
The NHS will be turned into a “zoo” for three hours. You will get a chance to meet and engage with local dog and cat rescue groups – for FREE, talk to breed experts and receive behavior advice, and see animals who need a second chance at a great home.
Don’t expect to walk home with a furry friend that day, however. Rescue groups have a different adoption process. Click here to learn more about the way adoptions take place.
The 20 rescue groups that will be at the rally are:
